Angel vs. Demon: Subtlety

Angel: “I… don’t get it. Why count the trees as he passes by them?”

Demon: “He’s not.”

Angel: “Yes he is. Clearly, he is counting each tree he is passing.”

Demon: “Yes, he’s counting. But not the trees.”

Angel: “There’s nothing else in the forest.”

Demon: “Really? You can’t see the forest for the trees?”

Angel: “Haha, very funny.”

Me: “He’s right you know. You missed some of the details. Read it again. Some descriptions are so subtle, that if you’re not paying attention, you’ll miss something.”

Angel: “I’ve read that scene several times and I still don’t get it.”

Demon: “Wait for it…”

Angel: “Wait for what?”

Demon: “Wait for it…”

Me: “Now do you get it?”

Angel: “…oh…OH!!!”

Demon: “That’s right, the devil’s in the details.”

Angel: “How long have you been waiting to use that one?”

Demon: “Helluva long time.”
