I also love to reread books. It's one reason I prefer buying them to checking them out from a library. "The Princess Bride," like the above poster, is a favorite of mine that never gets old. I've also read the Molly Murphy series a few times.
If I really like a book, I'll read it at least three times--once for the plot, once for the character development, and once for use of language. Not that I don't get bits of character development and language in the first reading, but when I know the plot, I can concentrate better on other facets of the writing.Like you, I've read Lord of the Rings several times and have it on my list again. My go-to favorite for times of stress is Tony Hillerman. If I really like a book, I'll keep a copy of it for my personal library. Otherwise I trade them in at the second-hand book store or I donate them.



I know what you mean about comfort reads. I always go back to 'The Princess Bride', one of my all-time favorites.
