Where the Sky Begins

With Covid still lingering on and making travel difficult I've not had my usual booktours for two years, and I'm really missing seeing my faithful readers all over the US.

So I've tried to get the word out about my new stand alone novel WHERE THE SKY BEGINS. I know there has been a wonderful Goodreads giveaway and I hop all of you who have enjoyed the book will post reviews everywhere.

For those of you who don't know it yet, it's another WWII book, featuring a London woman whose house is bombed and she is left with nothing. How does she survive? Where will she go? As she tries to fit into a new and different community she develops skills, makes friends, handles danger. Everyone so far has loved Josie's personal growth against the background of war.

Venice in the Spring!

I am excited to tell you about my new book, THE VENICE SKETCHBOOK, that comes out on April 13

It’s about two women, bound by blood and parallel stories-and Venice. In 1928 Juliet is a young girl, abroad for the first time. In 1939 she is back in Venice for a life of forbidden love and great danger and in 2001 as she lies dying with her great-niece Caroline at her side, she presses a box into Caroline’s hands. It contains 3 keys and a sketchbook of Venice
What will those keys unlock?

It was a joy to return to Venice in my head during the pandemic when we couldn’t travel because it’s a place I’ve loved all my life, starting as a child when my parents rented a villa nearby and let my brother and me explore alone. Every time I visit it takes my breath away. I have tried to bring it to life in this book so that you can enjoy it is much as I do
Stay safe. The light is at the end of the tunnel

Queen Victoria in new book

I'm excited to announce that my new stand alone novel called ABOVE THE BAY OF ANGELS will be released on Feb 11,2020.

It's about a young woman who escapes drudgery to become a cook for Queen Victoria, travels with her to the South of France where she becomes embroiled in political intrigue and murder.

A woman who succeeds against all odds.
Queen Victoria
The French Riviera and French cuisine
A hint of danger and romance
Isn't that the perfect recipe for a book?

New Georgie book

Sorry this blog so rarely gets updated. I usually post on my Facebook page and I am part of the Jubgle Red Writers group blog.
But I'm excited that this week a new Royal Spyness novel is published. It's lucky number 13 and it's called LOVE AND DEATH AMONG THE CHEETAHS. It takes place in Kenya.

In Farleigh Field

It was a challenge for me to write a big stand alone novel with multiple points of view. But I am passionate about WWII and the whole code breaking aspect so I loved the research at Bletchley Park.
Let me know what you think of it

The Course of True Love

Never does run smooth, of course.
And it's hard to blog about Lady Georgiana's life without giving things away. And I know how you hate spoilers.
Let me just say that when we left her at the end of Malice at the Palace she was on an exciting trip to Scotland with her beloved, Darcy O'Mara. However they are first held up by a blizzard and then by the newspaper headline that Darcy's father has been arrested for a crime.
What's more Darcy thinks he is guilty.
Is this the end of a beautiful romance? Don't underestimate Lady Georgie.
The new book is called Crowned and Dangerous and it comes out on August 2nd. It takes place in an Irish castle with an enigmatic American millionaire and an equally mysterious Polish princess!

Twelve Clues Time

I know I've neglected this blog recently. Sorry. Too many online commitments--I post daily on my page (www.facebook.com/rhysbowenauthor) I tweet daily (@rhysbowen and I am one of the Jungle Red Writers, contributing to the popular group blog and hosting my week in turn.

I'm the host this week and we're having some great discussions (and moans) about travel, food and iPhone apps. Come over and join in at www.jungleredwriters.com

Apart from that it's a good and busy time for me. This week marks the release of the paperback of The Twelve Clues of Christmas. It's being sold at a bargain price on Amazon so will make a great stocking stuffer, with the compendium of Christmas games/recipes/traditions in the back..

And yesterday I received my advance reading copies of City of Darkness and Light and they look beautiful. I'll let you know where I'm going on my book tour as soon as I find out.

I hurried up to finish my Molly Murphy e-story called THROUGH THE WINDOW after I saw it listed as #18 on the historical mystery bestseller list. That was rather shocking to realize it was only a great cover with no content! It will be available on January 6th, and a month later there will be a compendium of the first three Royal Spyness books, provocatively titled A ROYAL THREESOME.

Now I'm about to start writing the next Molly book, plus jotting down ideas for the Molly Christmas book AND I've got plans for a really fun Georgie book featuring a royal wedding (not Georgie's yet)

So stay in touch and if you enjoy my books, tell your friends about them.
