Finally FINISHED - Concealed Desire
I've reached a milestone!Today I finished and submitted my first novel - Concealed Desire.
On a whim a few weeks ago I submitted the story information to a pitch contest and you could have shoved a 2x4 in my gaping mouth when I found out my piece had been chosen for a full manuscript request.
It was my first ever pitch and this is my first ever novel, so I was blown away with my stroke of luck.
What did I learn from the experience? Never. Ever. submit to a pitch contest unless you are finished a story. I did outline in my submission that the story was approx 2 weeks away from completion and thought it would allow me enough time to finish...yeah, I was delusional. Well, not really delusional, but I found that my stroke of luck with the manuscript request weighed out with a tiny piece of bad luck on every day there after.
So the last two weeks have been nothing but stress and total commitment to writing and polishing at every given opportunity. It even got to the point where I called one of my children by one of the character names. Unfortunately it was my 3 year old son being called 'Beth'.
But now its off in cyber space, sitting in someones inbox waiting to be read. Like every aspiring author I hope Dean and Beth's story is published for the world to see. I've had the hots for Dean for so damn long that I want everyone else to fall in love with the womanizing playboy (picture above of Nathan Kamp is the spitting image of Dean).
And Beth melts my heart. She turns Dean inside out with her honesty and kindness. They are truly perfect together.
Fingers crossed everyone
Eden xoxo
