Question of the Day

So we’re thinking about moving out of the city (one of us is rather more keen on it than the other).  And as we ponder the pros and cons, I find that people tend to fall into categories when it comes to this kind of thing.  Sort of a Green Acres, Oliver vs. Lisa.   So how about you?   Cityscape or countryscape?  And if you’re a low density kind of person are you suburban or village?  And if you love that urban vibe are we talking small city or big one like Manhattan?  Apartment, townhome or house?  One story or two?  New or old?  Hate a basement–couldn’t live without it?  Ideal number of bathrooms?  Ideal kitchen?   Man o’ man the questions are endless!  So now how about some answers?  Opinions definitely welcome!

Mary I live out in the country. Six miles from a small town and about thirty miles from a small city. I always say I would love to live in a big city,(New York)just to see what it would be like. But only for about six months and then I would move back to the country. I live in Central Florida. I can go out side in my PJ and never worry about someone seeing me. I don't think I could be happy long term with people all around me. I like not being able to see any house from my house. I am a country girl for sure.

Amanda I live in a small town, not too far from a major, though smallish, big city. I like to go to the city for theater, dining, and other entertainments, but I live in the kind of community where I can let the kids go to the library by themselves. We're talking about getting a few acres, but now just isn't the right time for us. I really like that I can give my kids the kind of life where they can learn to be independent.
