Once in a blue moon...

... there are two full moons in one month. August 2012 is one of those lucky months for certain time zones.

To celebrate that, The Gauguin Connection will be available on Amazon.com for free on 1 September – for one day only!
Grab it, tell your friends about it, post it on your Facebook profile, and remember to read it!

Apparently this phenomenon will only take place again in July 2015. This makes tonight a very special night. Take a moment to look up and appreciate the beauty of the full moon.

I’m not superstitious. Not at all. Just today a neighbour stopped me just as I entered my building and would not chat to me over the threshold. He believes that shaking hands, giving gifts or simply chatting with a doorway separating us would bring bad luck. He stepped into my building and we chatted in the foyer for a few minutes before he left to walk his dog. It was charming.

I find superstitions very interesting. Most of them are taught to children in society’s attempt to warn, teach or instil certain values and beliefs. Others seem rather silly when you tell foreigners about it. But mostly I believe that we create our own luck. Hard work, good energy, kindness and consideration to others, and lots more hard work will come back to us. I will, however, also freely admit that this year I’ve bought national lottery tickets. Twice! And did not win. But I did try my luck.

Maybe I will sing to the moon tonight with the hope that it will bring more book sales, good reviews, but above all, good people to my life. Tomorrow it will be back to hard work!

Sharon Michael I found it the one day it was free, which was very fortunate for me as I probably would not have tried it otherwise. I primarily utilize the 'free downloads' lists for my new to me authors and I suspect the very detailed investigative process might not have intrigued me enough in the sample.

I am now more than 3/4 of the way through, finding it difficult to put down and have already looked to see if there is another in the series. I'm delighted to discover that while there is not another published, it is being written.

I think this is one of the rare 'first book in a series' that is going to end up on my 'auto-purchase' list.

Thank you, Sharon! You'll be pleased to know that I completely agree with you. Genevieve spends far too much time in front of her computers in The Gauguin Connection. I'm busy with the next book and am working a lot more action in - it's not good for her health or her eyes to spend so much time staring at those monitors! Genevieve and Colin will do some running (and chasing) in the next book.

I'm really glad that you are enjoying the read and hope to hear from you again. Happy reading!!

Sharon Michael I don't know how you did it, but you managed a 'can't put it down page-turner' without resorting to a lot of fast action and violence. You even managed to get me past one of my personal 'pet peeves' (the Bluebeard Syndrome, don't open that door whatever you do) so prevalent in B movies with no gritted teeth ... it wasn't stupidity, it was rational for her because of her autism issues.

I just finished it and posted reviews on both Goodreads and Amazon. I hope you are a fast writer!

Wow, thank you, Sharon! Your compliments humble and definitely delight me! I can only hope to improve with each book. Thank you for that wonderful review here on Goodreads. I'm looking forward to see the one on Amazon. Stay in touch!

Sharon Michael Glad you enjoyed the review. I don't 'gush' over books very often but came very close with this one and am always delighted to find a treasure like this one.
