My Liege of Dark Haven is released!!

My Liege of Dark Haven
Threatened by university cutbacks, Professor Abigail Bern’s only hope is to publish a provocative research paper--soon. Planning to covertly observe behavior in the notorious Dark Haven BDSM club, she takes a receptionist job. When the owner calls upon her to assist in a demonstration, she’s appalled. Then fascinated. Under the unyielding hands of the master known as my Liege, she discovers a need to be more than an observer.

His late wife had been the center of his life, and Xavier Leduc wants no other. But when his new receptionist does her utmost to keep an emotional distance from him, he’s intrigued and digs deeper. She’s adorable. Intriguingly intelligent, beautifully submissive, sweetly vulnerable. He soon realizes her defenses are keeping her on the fringe of her sexuality--and her life. As he draws her into fuller participation, she unconsciously does the same for him. She begins to fill his world.

Ever since the night she met my Liege Xavier, Abby has questioned everything she believes about herself. She’s falling for the stern owner of Dark Haven and thinks he’s beginning to care for her...until the day he learns why she’s in his club.

I hope you enjoy your time with my liege.

Emy This is exciting! :) I've only read the Club Shadowland series, but I'm planning on picking up all your other books for my kindle before I go to Australia for 3 weeks. Planning on getting lots of reading done. ;D

message 2: by Cherise (new)

Cherise Sinclair Ooo, Emy, I have Australian friends who are always sending me pictures of humongous spiders. So watch out for the monster arachnids and have a wonderful time!

Thank you, Pat!

message 3: by toofondofbooks (new)

toofondofbooks I'm so excited! Any idea when it'll be available for Nook at B&N? Not sure I'll be able to wait... might just have to buy it from LooseID;)

Laura (Kyahgirl) OMG, I'm so happy. I've been dropping by LooseID for a couple of days hoping it would come out soon. Yay!

message 5: by Basia Rose (new)

Basia Rose This was one of my favourites. I actually sat there grinning through the - um - forest chase thingy.

I also started highlighting passages to add as quotes here on Goodreads when I was done. But I highlighted so many passages I don't know where to start!

Yes, we have some great spiders here!

Spring (which starts in a few days!) is actually the worst season for them too.
But then... most people manage to visit this country without encountering anything too scary... or being put in hospital from some animal attack!

message 6: by Emy (new)

Emy Basia Rose: Well, that's good to know!! :P At least I'll have some good reading material if it all goes pear-shaped! :)

message 7: by ~ Becs ~ (new)

~ Becs ~ I bought it at 8 in the morning and had it finished by that evening all on release day! Safe to say that I totally devoured it. I loved it - thank-you.

The spiders aren't that big! It's the snakes you have to watch out for =P

message 9: by Sherry (new)

Sherry It is already on amazon!! Yaaay

I am in my study now with a sign on the door "do not disturb I am reading the new Cherise book and surrounded by heavy stuff that will fly at your face if you try to enter"

message 10: by Jen (new)

Jen WOOT new book! Can't wait to read it!!!!

message 11: by Cherise (new)

Cherise Sinclair Boy, that was quick, Becs and Basia! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

toofondofbooks: Barnes & Noble takes a while, but it should be up this week. Or a lot of people get it at Loose Id in the epub format, like Pat said.

Jennie, I think Aussie have a higher percentage of sadists--especially the women.

I hope y'all have fun spending time with my liege. :-)

message 12: by Basia Rose (new)

Basia Rose I was fast because I downloaded it here in the afternoon, which was around midnight in the US. So I was done before most people got up in the morning!

Jennie wrote: "The spiders aren't that big! It's the snakes you have to watch out for =P"
No - the drop bears.

Emy wrote: "Basia Rose: Well, that's good to know!! :P At least I'll have some good reading material if it all goes pear-shaped! :)"
It's actually so much safer than we want people to believe!

message 13: by Lori (new)

Lori Wow, LOVED IT! LOL. I've had it on my reminder calendar for months. :)

message 14: by Sylvie (last edited Aug 30, 2012 07:30PM) (new)

Sylvie I was hoping I could read it slowly and savor. I should have known better! I started last night and I'm already over halfway in. I'll likely finish tomorrow. Would be today but I have to go to work. Stupid job!

message 15: by ~ Becs ~ (new)

~ Becs ~ Cherise - what happened to Destiny? Why did she leave Dark Haven?

True.

That is just not right Tarah! LOL

message 20: by Kym (new)

Kym Grosso This was an AWESOME book. Posted my 5 star review on Amazon and here on Goodreads. Loved it! :-)

message 21: by Nomad (new)

Nomad No more Destiny at Dark Haven???

message 22: by Nomad (new)

Nomad Oh good, she was my FAVORITE part of the anthologies. I am really not a fan of Sierra Cartwright, but I even liked her version of Destiny. What can I say, I'm in love with that adorable lady.

I've been hesitant to get excited about this book, not sure that Dark Haven will be Dark Haven without Destiny as the receptionist.

What do you guys think?

message 23: by Sylvie (last edited Sep 01, 2012 01:27AM) (new)

Sylvie Just finished My Liege and loved it! And posted a review on Amazon. (5 stars of course!) I especially loved that it took place in my part of the Bay Area! How awesome is that??

message 24: by Angie (new)

Angie Still reading....I'm LOVIN this book.. Cherise you always blow me away with your writing.... I'm loving Master DeVries too... Can't wait to have a play session with him =)......

message 25: by Cherise (new)

Cherise Sinclair Thanks, y'all! I'm so glad you're enjoying My Liege!

Nomad--Pat is right. Sierra and Belinda gave Xavier to me and Belinda got Destiny. I think she's working on that book now. :-)

Tarah, did you mean there's no cover art with the book you downloaded, or that B&N wasn't showing the cover up on their site yet?

Virginia, 'researching' ways for Doms to 'torture' their subs is one of the finest aspects of writing BDSM. For deVries--someone pointed out that Doms never forget when a submissive 'owes' them something, so he's going to expect Lindsey to pay up. I'll have to see what I can do. And isn't Dixon a sweetheart? :-)

message 26: by Nomad (new)

Nomad Alrighty, now that I know that my beloved Destiny has not been forgotten, off to read 'My Leige'.

By the way Ms. Sinclair, I've said it before in my reviews of your work, but my fave part of your writing is your settings. You could set a story in a shoebox and I would feel that shoebox underneath my fingertips and never want to leave said footwear container. I wish other writers could make their settings come alive in the ways that you do.

I can smell the places you describe for crying out loud!

message 27: by Suzee (new)

Suzee Wow. Can't wait to read it. Is this a follow on from Masters Of Shadowlands, or a new series? I loved MOS, and Mountain Masters.
BTW, I hate spiders too, and yes we do have some bloody big monsters here in OZ.

message 28: by Sylvie (new)

Sylvie I agree with Virginia. Dixon needs to find the perfect Dom!

Paris (kerbytejas) it was an awesome book - sorry its over already

message 30: by Cherise (new)

Cherise Sinclair Nomad, I'm still laughing at your comment--a shoebox? :-)

Suzee, the Dark Haven anthologies (1&2) were a spinoff of the BDSM club from the Mountain Masters series, and my stories in them have characters that appeared in the Mountain series. But people wanted owner of Dark Haven to have a book, so that's how My Liege came to be.

Sylvie, I'll see what I can do about Dixon...but he might have to wait a bit.

Thank you, Paris and fangaddict!

message 31: by Christine (new)

Christine this was well worth the wait! Very unexpected depiction of the super intimidating Xavier I've come to read about throughout the series. Abby is adorable...I was looking forward to cat fight with her step sister! Lindsey is the go to best friend that every girl wants to have in their corner & she deserves a good Master to collar her...DesVries picks on her but I have a feeling we will get a lot more of their story in the next book!!?? In love with Dixon. He makes me laugh and tear up at the drop of a hat.
On a side note- I love how you, Mrs. Sinclair, weave in updates on couples from previous books esp when the subs are pregnant. You'll have to write another for the DOMS OF DARK HAVEN so I can check on my liege and the professor : )

message 32: by Linda (new)

Linda Kinal After reading Cherise's books, I say, this was my favorite no book can beat this one...well let me say NO NO NO book can beat My Liege...my favorite!! It also hit home for me in some respects and I thank you Cherise.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved the book...but I was left wondering about that dam paper Abby was writing...did it get sent on time, did it get published? I kinda want to know seeing as how much trouble it got her into, and it was almost a character in and of itself.

message 34: by Cherise (new)

Cherise Sinclair Cbou, thank you so much. (Dixon did a happy dance that you mentioned him too)

Linda and Melody, thank you! And Melody...hmm. You're right. I should have wrapped up what happened to the research essay a little better. Especially since the members agreed and gave her interviews. Sorry!

message 35: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Hi Cherise,

Thanks for friending me. As you know I love, love your books! Have read them ALL. Can't wait until the next one with Master Sam! Ooohh, it's gonna be good! Happy writing Cherise!

Celeste

Melody wrote: "I loved the book...but I was left wondering about that dam paper Abby was writing...did it get sent on time, did it get published? I kinda want to know seeing as how much trouble it got her into, a..."

well you can always add it in to the next dark haven book, submissions deadlines are often 4 or 5 months in advance of publications. So no need for apologies, it's just an opportunity to be creative. *grins*

Yvonne (the putrid Shelf) Cannot wait to read this. Huge fan of the shadowland series.

Paris (kerbytejas) Yvonne wrote: "Cannot wait to read this. Huge fan of the shadowland series."

this was a awesome, fabulous, one of her best books - read it soon

message 39: by Cole (new)

Cole I loved My liege!!! Planning on writing deVries story or any more for Dark haven?

message 40: by Cherise (new)

Cherise Sinclair Thanks, Celeste! I'm working on Master Sam's story and he's fully as stubborn as you might think. :-(

Melody--I know the time frame was skewed. That's why I had to make it an online journal with the publisher pulling strings to get a hasty peer review. Since I do epub, I've learned that publications can be sooo much quicker, but those scientific types still don't move that fast. LOL

Yvonne, I hope you enjoy the book. Thanks, Paris & Niki!

Niki, I have to finish a couple of Shadowlands, but I'm hoping to do another Dark Haven...hopefully, before deVries gets too annoyed. Never piss off a sadist, right? ;-)

message 41: by Rachael (new)

Rachael I just finished it today...I LOVED IT!!

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

l just ordered a hard copy of My Liege. I have your books on my Kindle for convenience, but there is something about holding a book and turning the pages that I prefer.

I am revisiting everyone at Shadowlands and Dark Haven to keep me busy until Master Sam's story is ready. I am really looking forward to it.
