OUC Orlando Utilities Commission Website Problems to Increase Profits, Late Payments and Past Due Charges

OUC Orlando Utilities Commission has purposefully for years made their website difficult to delay consumers in route to making their payments in a timely fashion.

Recently after I had just finally gotten used to navigating through OUC's awful website, they changed it so now consumers have to click through several screens to locate their account records, charges and (as if that is not enough already) OUC then makes you click on another link to make a payment.

Although the consumer's account number had already been retrieved upon logging into the OUC website, Orlando Utilities Commission thought when it is time to pay that their website should direct consumers to a few more pages to delay the process.

Then to further frustrate consumers OUC makes it so on the final pre-payment page consumers again have to put their account number in (beyond the username and password that previously seconds earlier retrieved the numerical account number).

So if consumers can remember the OUC numerical account number, they then have to type it in (as you cannot copy and paste it from the previous page - another OUC web design trick) the payment page before OUC allows consumers to pay.

As a result of all OUC's website nonsense I was late a month making a payment and OUC charged me a

Past due amount of $3.41 which they greedily charge interest on monthly to increase accordingly if you resist paying it.

OUC Orlando Utilities Commission's website is designed to delay consumer payments, cause late payments to occur and increase their revenue (in my opinion).

Sherra Hedrick I agree with you. Now they just take it out of my bank every month. My beef with them is the conservation department. In 2007 I had them to my College Park condo to see if I could save on energy and they said all I needed was a little more insulation in the attics and that they have a "preferred provider list". The guy told me he liked one on the list more than the others so I used this guy. My bill never lowered but became higher so I had other things looked at such airconditioning and ductwork. They were all fine. For the past 6 - 8 months OUC has been sending me letters that I am using more than anyone else on my street so I had someone come and look at the attic vents to see if they were open or if I needed more. He said they are fine but that all of my soffits are covered with blown in insulation and I have no airflow. Well, I call OUC and tell them their "preferred provider" did they this and I am looking for them to correct it. What a joke---I was told they are not responsible for anything and that this provider is no longer on their list and neither does the guy in the conservation department who came to my home work for OUC anymore. He says I should have checked this person out before I hired him. Well, I did check him out through OUC. Then he starts to tell me that Harvard Univ. did a study and it does not matter if you have attic airflow or not, that your bill will be the same. I do not believe this as I just saw a program on HGTV about this same thing and they said all experienced insulation people block off the soffits as to not block airflow. And if your soffits are covered your utility bill will be highter. OUC sucks Sherra Hedrick
