Terrorists in Pakistan - Confronting Corruption
Terrorists in Pakistan in a commonly discussed topic among the U.S. military, but confronting corruption throughout Pakistan may be a better approach than drones overhead responsible for killing hundreds of innocent civilians as one former CIA agent told BBC.
I have been to Pakistan twice since 9/11 and know how dangerous it can be. My cousin, a retired Army Ranger and Marine told me he wouldn't go to Pakistan with 5,000 men.
Acting courageously to confront corruption in a free society takes a degree of boldness and bravery, knowing you may be deemed unpatriotic and alienated by "mainstream" society.
Retired senior police investigator Zafar Qureshi, 59, has security guards stationed 24 hours a day outside his home in Lahore, Pakistan. The former police official has probed some of the highest profile cases of official misconduct in Pakistan, and says he fears for his safety and that of his children in a country that he says is steeped in a "culture of corruption." Our Pakistani friend Mr. Qureshi is one who truly loves his country, so much so he is willing to sacrifice himself (as did Ghandi and Martin Luther King) to make it better.
God bless and be with him!
