Word Search: Cringey Words (Contest)
Happy National Dictionary Day!!
I thought of celebrating it by doing a word search, but what theme would be fun? Then I remembered how the girls go “Ew” over the word “moist”—a perfectly descriptive word, but one that makes them cringe—especially when I say it for some reason. Go figure.
So, today’s puzzle includes some of my own favorite cringey words. Every time I hear the 16-year-old say “sick” when describing something she thinks is cool, I cringe. Sigma makes me cringe and laugh. A Sigma guy is cool and does his own thing regardless of what everyone else thinks. First, don’t we have enough with Alpha (He men), Beta (in tune with his feelings but often a wuss), and Omegas, which I do not understand at all. Second, why are we using the Greek alphabet to describe men? When did that even start?!
Slurp and squirt are, I think, self-explanatory.
