Later that night, they performed a surprise set for Kai Cenat—Twitch’s most popular streamer—in his bathroom during his Mafiathon3 marathon livestream to more than 115,000 viewers. They ended the day with a high energy pop-up performance at a USC frat.The group followed up on Friday with a 12-hour Twitch livestream across Las Vegas that saw the hitmakers training with UFC champ Merab Dvalishvili and Power Slap slap fightersDiplo moonlighting as an aquarium mermaid, a mukbang at Michelin-awarded restaurant Din Tai Fung, multiple sets across the city including a massive charity block party for 6,000 people, giving one fan a $10,000 shopping spree and much more. The group played unreleased music from forthcoming projects throughout the stream, which brought in more than 425,000 viewers over the course of the day.Lazer rounded out the weekend with a surprise set at an ASU tailgate on Saturday before taking their act to the headline stage of Goldrush Festival later that night.The group recently returned with a new track, “GANGSTA,” featuring dancehall superstar and longtime collaborator Busy Signal and pioneer of the Basshall movement Kybba—listen HERE. “GANGSTA” is the long-awaited follow up to the 2013 cult classic “Watch Out for This (Bumaye)” with Busy Signal. The track also sees the group team up with Kybba, the Italy-raised, Amsterdam-based DJ/producer behind the Basshall Movement. The group teased the track alongside tons of new music this summer around the world.With the dawn of a new chapter for Major Lazer, Diplo has recruited British-Jamaican breakout America Foster into the fold. Foster is an artist and all-around performer whose distinctive style and authentic voice caught Diplo’s attention, leading to a collaboration in Jamaica that evolved into a formal place in the group.
