All My Book Protagonists Ranked!

If you've been keeping up with my socials, you'd know that my fourth book, The Spellbound Storm, is now out! And what's more, it's the final book in my first series, Sabtechai's Saga!

To celebrate, I'm going to be ranking every protagonist of my series! To be clear, I enjoyed creating and sharing the stories of each and every one of these guys, but as always, some were more fun than others!

As always, all of this is my opinion, and you may have had more fun following one of my characters than I expected! Oh, and SPOILER ALERT for the entirety of my first series, so if you haven't yet read it, then you can find the links to their Amazon pages here!

Now, let's go!

#6: Makkedah (The Tainted Ruins): A leopard gecko girl who joins Uriah on his quest to save his island, all the while dealing with mental struggles of her own.

When I started having mental health issues, I wanted to write about them through Makkedah. But while they do have some similarities with what I've been through, I wouldn't write them the same way today with what I've learned since then. But aside from that, she's okay all-around, and I like her relationship with Ring as it grows throughout the book.

#5: Uriah (The Inglorious River): The main protagonist of the first book, the owl-dragon who starts the journey to save his home, setting the events of the story in motion.

Uriah's a perfectly fine character, but he represents some ideals that I no longer hold to, though they're still fun to explore in the story.

Also, I couldn't have expected just how much I'd end up putting him through when I started this series...especially in book number four.

#4: Cephus (The Destroyed Country): A runaway black bull prince who tags along with Uriah on his quest, becoming an essential part of the plot to take down Sabtechai.

Cephus' relationships with the main cast and role in the story are pretty solid overall. Whenever he plays a part in a scene, whether large or small, it's always nice.

The only problem with him is that in his book, his character arc kind of ends less than halfway through. His role from then on is still good, but the more emotional moments mostly come from Kenan's side of the story...keyword: mostly. There's still the ending.

#3: Ring (The Tainted Ruins): A raccoon who is initially hired to hunt down Uriah and his group before deciding to aid him, even when his quest has more personal connections to her than she first thought.

While Ring was only a main character during the second book, she has a point of view in every book in the series, even in the epilogue of the last one. As such, she could be considered the main protagonist of the entire saga.

Her relationship with her old friend Ummah is my favorite part of the second book, and her connection to Sabtechai is one of the most pivotal aspects of the series. She's just a solid character, and if I can write all my future characters with at least her quality, then I'll be satisfied.

#2: Kenan (The Destroyed Country): A badger boy who unexpectedly gets caught up in the plot to overthrow Sabtechai after running away from home.

When I started this series, I didn't at all expect that Kenan would become one of the main characters, but the way the plot unfolded, he not only turned out that way, but he also had a very nice story of his own. His relationship with his surrogate guardian, the risks he takes to help his friends, and his strained relationship with his father all work together to make his character arc one of the best I've written so far!

And the way it ends...I won't spoil that much here.

#1: Ritti (The Spellbound Storm): Ring and Cephus' daughter, a raccoon-bull hybrid who sets off to defeat her aunt once her family disappears due to the tyrant's magic.

Although I always planned for Ring and Cephus to be together by the end of their journey, Ritti would never have become a protagonist if I hadn't decided to let Sabtechai...y'know, win. And what a great decision it was, both for my story and characters!

Even while she's journeying across the continent of Fortura and encountering unexpected friends and foes, the heart of her story is her relationship with her aunt and its affect on her. The way its navigated and concluded, I enjoyed writing all of it, and I'm really happy with how the ending of the series turned out!

Thanks for reading both my post and my books! Please recommend my works to a friend or anyone you think may be interested!

Can't wait to reveal my next project to you guys!
