One NFL QB Is Saying Goodbye to Skittles and Hello to Hydration

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is entering his third season in the NFL.

The former Florida Gators star was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but his first two years in the league have been a roller coaster.

As such, Richardson is out to prove it even more in Year 3, especially with former first-round pick Daniel Jones in the QB room. And, Richardson is even making changes to his diet, including eliminating candy.

With the preseason officially underway, Richardson revealed that he is now focusing more on his diet, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN

"I had to cut the sweets out, man," Richardson said. "It's the candy. I used to be big on Skittles and all that stuff, just eating candy all the time. So, I've been just trying to cut out the sugary stuff and hydrate more. I need to be more of a pro when it comes to my eating."

For Richardson, the healthier diet is a start, and hydrating more is another way he can take better care of his body.

According to Holder, Richardson lost 10 pounds in the offseason and is now at 240 pounds, and the young signal-caller is making a more focused effort to work on his body.

Richardson's Skittles Craze Was Evident in College

Richardson has been a big fan of Skittles, and he was often seen with a bag even during his days with the Florida Gators.

"No more Skittles for Anthony Richardson?!?! I remember him regularly carrying a bag on his way into The Swamp..." Matt Baker, a college football reporter for The Athletic, wrote on X

Baker also posted a clip of Richardson walking with a bag in his hand in 2022.

Will it work? Who knows, but at least the young signal-caller is trying to make an effort in hopes of winning the QB1 job in Indianapolis.
