Jeremy Renner Says He’s ‘Sure’ He’ll Return for 'Hawkeye' Season 2
Marvel’s sharpshooting superhero may not have been a name linked to the 2026 film Avengers: Doomsday, but he’s far from hanging up the bow and arrow for good.
While there was some doubt cast over the potential for Hawkeye Season 2, star Jeremy Renner has reignited a spark of excitement among Marvel fans with his latest comments. Beyond that, Renner also spoke about the potential for his character, Hawkeye, to return in other MCU projects in the future as well.
While speaking with Empire during a recent interview, Renner stated that he's getting his body "ready" for a return to the superhero role and admitted he's "sure" they'll end up doing Season 2 of Hawkeye.

“I’m always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character,” Renner said. “I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2 [of ‘Hawkeye’], and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”
After a terrifying snowmobile accident in 2023, Renner stated that he's recovered "more than 150 percent" and can handle the workload that comes along with the lofty Marvel roles.
It's excellent news for both Marvel fans and those who enjoyed Hawkeye Season 1, which featured Renner alongside Hailee Steinfeld, who portrayed Kate Bishop.
While there's no specific timeline for Hawkeye Season 2, or any specifics on Renner's return to the character in an upcoming Marvel project, the wheels are at least turning a bit now. There's also the possibility that he could land in Avengers: Doomsday, or the 2027 follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars.
