You’re right when you say that literature is regarded as a luxury and upper-middle-class fashion here. In fact, both the lower class and middle class believe that literature is merely a hobby for the uppermost class. But in fact, the upper class are practically illiterate.

நான் உங்கள் காணொளி ஒன்றைப் பார்த்து உண்மையில் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தேன். ஆதித்த கரிகாலன் பிராமணர்களால் கொலைசெய்யப்பட்டார் என்று இங்கே அரைநூற்றாண்டாக அரசியல்வாதிகள் பிரச்சாரம் செய்கிறார்கள். அண்மையில் பொன்னியின் செல்வன் வெளிவந்தபோது அந்தப்பிரச்சாரம் உச்சம் அடைந்தது.
