A challenge from Maria

Lucky 7 is a blog challenge. I was challenged to take part by author Elpi Pamiadaki who is a writer I met on Twitter.

The challenge is to blog 7 lines from unpublished works of fiction. Here are the instructions:

1. Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript (fiction or non-fiction)
2. Go to line 7
3. Post on your blog the next 7 lines, or sentences, as they are – no cheating
4. Tag 7 other authors to do the same

The following is from page 77, the next 7 lines after line 7...

*

From my 'nearly ready' novel, Lost Shadows.

She looked nervously at the kitchen door that stood open to the hall, but knew she’d never make it.
“Do I have to say it again? Give me your hand; I want to see what you’re holding.”
She’d never been able to understand how he always knew...knew when she was hiding things.
And why was he still holding the kettle?

*

I tag the following authors so as not to repeat Maria's:

Billy Young
Adrian L Hawkes
Jeremy Rodden
Martha Rodriguez
Benjamin Jones
Candy Ann Little
Alex Sumner

Thanks, Maria

Darcia Helle First, it's Maria with the mysterious ring. Now I'm wondering why he's still holding the kettle. What is he going to do with it? And what's in her hand?

This isn't fair, ladies. The suspense is killing me!
