Maps Private Value thrillers Spring 2025 Update

The Yampa Valley in Northern Colorado is bursting back to life this week. Icy spring runoff fills rivers and streams as the last mountaintop snow surrenders to sunshine and 70-degree days. It looks like the valley turned green overnight. Local gardeners are in their element, coaxing new life from the soil as the short Rocky Mountain growing season begins. Yampa River Botanic Park has opened its gates for the summer, and it’s a perfect moment to reflect on the Maps Private Value journey.

Book Reviews
Kirkus Reviews. This month, Kirkus Reviews described anthology Value Never Sleeps – “A rapid-fire collection that always keeps the reader guessing.” https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-re...

Bestseller World. Book reviewer Diana Coyle at Bestsellers World dove into Daughter of Mars noting: “Overall, “Daughter of Mars” by Alden Globe is one story that will have you walking away thinking about the true statistical death rate these toxic drugs cause on innocent victims. Although it’s fictional, the loosely based factual storyline makes readers stop and want to take action themselves, no matter how small that action might be, to save someone’s life from being another statistic.”https://bestsellersworld.com/2025/03/...

Screenplay: Daughter of the Cloud
The cinematic quality of Rave Maps stories resonates with some readers. I wanted to see if we could lean further into that, and working with my brother Mitch, we have completed the Daughter of the Cloud screenplay, delving into Rave’s formative early years, raising herself on a Colorado ranch, and looking at her military service and its aftermath. The story explores the origins of Rave’s unique skill sets, and dives deeper into her relationship with Mait.

Maddy’s Garden of Light
Rave’s books raise funds for the endowment for Maddy’s Garden of Lightat Yampa River Botanic Park in Steamboat. (www.yrbp.org). 2024 sales of all three books generated $2,000 for the fund. Tax-deductible donations to Madz garden can be made at: https://www.yampariverbotanicpark.org.... Specify “Maddy’s Garden of Light” in the text box.

Fake Pharmaceuticals, the One Pill Kill, and Colorado SB25-086
Another goal of this multi-year writing project has been to raise awareness of the danger of the One Pill Kill. Two months ago, I added Maddy’s story to the voices of grieving parents at the Colorado Capitol. We advocated passage of Colorado SB25-086, legislation designed to curb advertising of illegal drugs and weapons on social media. After clearing every legislative hurdle, our Governor chose to veto the bill last week. Colorado Public Radio captured the drama behind this unfortunate decision: https://www.cpr.org/podcast-episode/a...

The dark nature of this political decision was laid bare in the Aspen Times in a letter from Chelsea Congdon. Chelsea is a courageous Aspen mother who knows deep personal loss. I stand behind her description of what happened here -- it’s accurate, heartfelt, and powerful: https://www.aspendailynews.com/opinio...

A Sequel?
Perhaps Spring growth has inspired me, for it now seems Rave’s story arc is not complete. I’ve begun research into yet another looming global challenge. I don’t have details yet, though it seems Rave’s future travel may include several exotic gardens. A reader and fellow Colorado value engineering colleague suggested perhaps we haven’t seen the last of fury-fueled CEO Bellony LaMarque. Incarcerated for her white-collar crimes after an explosive confrontation with Rave in Daughter of the Storm, LaMarque spent years in solitary confinement. This may have proven a remarkable, instructive experience for her…

Thank you for your support! Wishing you wonderful summer reading.
