Why the new title and cover?

That is a great question! The refreshed Daughter of the Cloud cover is an effort to help the story find its audience (female readers of thrillers,) and try and stand out from the competition on the bookshelf.

I wanted to convey that the story is not hard science fiction and not a business book. I was trying to blend fact with AI speculation to convey something of value engineering. I hoped the new cover conveys an imaginary perspective of the AI character Digital Maps' and what life may be like for an artificial being living in a digital cloud. Traditionally, water represents exploring the subconscious. I felt it might also draw attention to Rave Maps' character while making a nod to cloud computing. Perhaps it touches upon Maddy Globe as the "daughter in the cloud."

I like the color and typography, and hope to carry those elements through to book two in the series: "After All Our Tomorrows." (Because... value never sleeps.) I think we will next see the Maps Private Value VE team reunite to work on a consulting contract for the UN, struggling to meet a daunting challenge while gathering climate data in Belize, Palau, Steamboat, Boulder, and Australia (with stops in Barcelona, London and Grenada.) Of course, someone is working hard to stop them from succeeding.

In closing, I'll say the Daughter of the Cloud cover and title change was a great collaborative effort by the new editorial/ marketing / artwork/ audiobook/ narration/ screenwriting / legal team I've put together over the past 3 months to support the Maps Private Value series. With the team in place now, I hope to do an even better job next year! Been an exciting journey. Thanks for asking, and thanks for reading! AG
