My favorite thing about Lilo and Stitch (2002) and it’s use of Found family is that the movie doesn’t have the characters assume socially normative roles. There is no mom and dad. There is no clean separation of extended family. No parody of the nuclear family. Everyone just is family, no roles, no expectations. Just love and support.
