Yep, it’s that time again (cf. May 1, et al.), the Bloomington Writers Guild’s “Third Sunday Write,” with prompts courtesy of Shana Ritter. So these were the offerings for May 18, discovered by me (uncharacteristically) only a single day later:
What do you think this summer will bring you?Write about the last day of school — choose any year you’d likeSomething you lost . . . something you foundFavorite May flower, or gardens in May
So which would you choose? Any? All of them? Or a combination of some of them and/or all, maybe?
Anyway for better or worse (and/or choose them yourself), here’s where/how I ended up:
May prompt #1, WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS SUMMER WILL BRING YOU:
Something I lost, something I found,
at the end of summer,
or was that only the
last day of May?
A flower, a garden?
Or was it a bee, perhaps,
that stung me silly —
so much for the wonders
of blooms in the sunshine!
The Cortizone first;
then bring me the DDT.
