Dave Portnoy Stands Up For Taylor Swift
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is the head of a massive online community that caters primarily to young conservative men who like sports. However, that does not seem to be clouding his opinion of pop sensation Taylor Swift.
Over the years, Swift has not exactly been shy about sharing her political views, and that includes her staunch opposition to United States President Donald Trump. That continued last year as she officially endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
As a result, Trump has not exactly been a big fan of hers either, publicly declaring his "hate" for Taylor Swift in a Truth Social post shortly after she officially endorsed Harris. Now, Trump seems to be suggesting that her popularity has waned.
“Has anyone noticed that since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social last week.
But Portnoy absolutely does not agree.
During an appearance on Fox Business on Tuesday morning, Portnoy made his opinion of Taylor Swift very clear as he declared that Trump was very wrong to suggest that her popularity had faded.
“I mean, he’s wrong,” Portnoy said via Brandon Contes of Awful Announcing. “Like, you can’t be more wrong about anything. Taylor Swift is as hot as she’s ever been in the streets. She hasn’t put out new music, but if she said, ‘hey, snap my fingers, I want to sell 500,000 or a million tickets in three seconds and break Live Nation, she’d do it.”
“Listen, Trump goes on a rant, something made him upset, but he couldn’t be more wrong about this if his life depended on it,” Portnoy continued. “Taylor is the number one musician in the world and there’s nobody particularly close.”
This is not the first time that Portnoy has spoken highly of Taylor Swift. And based on his vocal support of her, it's unlikely to be his last.
