Leadership Speaker and Team Building Speaker for Company Harmony

As a leadership speaker and team building speaker I was interested in a recent study conducted by Harvard Business School (June 2012) that found the primary cause for dysfunction within organizations to be the relational distance between leaders and employees.

As a team building speaker I know connection is critical to inspire employees, but as a leadership speaker I also know executives and CEOs have huge egos. Balancing the two (since you can fall off either side of the horse) can take emotional discipline, attentiveness, a willingness to listen, and some humility.

Leading like a dictator in a top-down fashion only serves to anger and alienate your employees. If you want passive aggressive employees who sabotage you and your organization's success, treat everyone like dirt and just keep walking over them.

What I however as a leadership speaker continually remind managers, executives, CFOs and CEOs is that when you climb the ladder of success, be sure your ladder is leaning upon the right building and not merely the back of the people, lest the people who make you great, rebel, abandon ship, turn against and attack you.

This happens more than many leaders care to admit or organizations realize.

Another observation I have made is not every team building speaker is able to transcend the emotional turmoil boiling beneath the surface within an organization or company. Often such emotional angst is glossed over with cute smiles and lip service. Yet the subtleties and nonverbal cues eventually surface if you are emotionally in touch and attentive enough to notice.

Effective communication for leaders is not just saying what needs to be said, but considering employees' feelings and emotions when communicating (how you say it and respond to others during the process). If you are a leader that speaks harshly and bulldozes over people, eventually that animosity you have created within your organization will multiply via a root of bitterness and you will be putting out fires that you lit long ago (often unbeknownst to yourself).

Every human being deserves a degree of respect and personal dignity regardless of their position and stature in the corporation. We live to enjoy our lives, not be enslaved by our jobs and have our bosses lord themselves over us.

As a leadership speaker getting this through to executives and corporate managers sometimes can be a daunting task. Nevertheless it is a rewarding task and accomplishment worth pursuing.

Because when leaders lose touch with their co-workers and employees, the and the organization is soon to be sunk.

Bridge the gaps, build meaningful relationships, attend to conflict resolution, pursue reconciliation, apologize for past wrongs, be sensitive of others feelings and bring in a team building speaker and leadership speaker to prophetically address these matters and bring about a shift in corporate culture to improve and better your organization.
