“Our son was the PERFECT CHILD until last year.” The parents of a 9-year-old tell me.
“I am glad he changed!”! I tell them. “If your child is PERFECT, it will become very difficult for them to be SUCCESSFUL.”

Almost every parent wants a perfect child.
Because a perfect child makes the parents feel like PERFECT PARENTS.

But not for too long.
Soon –

1. The perfect child becomes lazy.
The laziness is actually their FEAR of FAILURE.
They are perfect – so they can’t afford to fail. So they choose not to try.

2. The perfect child gets stuck in a performance rut
They are stuck because they cannot take FEEDBACK and improve
Because taking feedback is proof that they are not perfect

3. The perfect child starts shouting
Being perfect is extremely stressful and creates ANXIETY.
And they are always stressed.

4. The perfect child becomes a device addict
Because they are afraid of REJECTION which is an inescapable part of the real world.

Many employers are complaining about the above problems with their “perfect CV” submitting gen Z employees.
Are you one of them?

Parenting must shift from focusing on crafting the perfect BEHAVIOUR
To creating a BETTER BRAIN.
