Who is Bix and Cassian's Baby in the 'Andor' Finale?

Although Cassian Andor's (Diego Luna) story seemingly concludes in the final moments of Andor Season 2, Episode 12, fans know that the true end to his story happened in 2016. So, if you're wondering if Andor Season 3 could happen in the future, the truth is, it basically already exists in the form of Rogue One. But does this movie feel the same as it did before? The short answer is no, it does not, for one big reason. And that reason seems to suggest that some version of Andor's story could continue in another form. Spoilers ahead for Andor Season 2, Episode 12, "Jedha, Kyber, Erso."

Why the Andor Ending Changes Rogue One

While the final moments of Andor Episode 12 find Cassian heading off to meet his contact and learn more about the Empire's superweapon, the true ending of the show lingers on the planet Mina-Rau, where we find that Bix (Adria Arjona) is holding a small child, meaning that when she left Cassian in Episode 9, she was doing it because she was pregnant.

So, now, when we watch Rogue One, and we see Cassian bond with Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), we know that on some level, he's still thinking about Bix. And, we also now know that even though Cassian Andor dies in Rogue One, there is at least one member of the Andor family alive at least until the end of the original Star Wars movie.

Who is Cassian and Bix's Baby in Star Wars?

Because Andor concludes right before the start of Rogue One, it's safe to say that little Andor would be about 30 years old around the time of the sequel movies, starting with The Force Awakens. This would make this person around the age of Oscar Isaac's beloved hotshot pilot character Poe Dameron.

So could this baby grow up to be Poe? The math works out, but certain Star Wars comics established that Poe's parents were different characters who fought for the Rebellion. But this off-screen backstory was before Andor had become a big deal, and well before Bix had been invented. So, while it's possible that the little Andor baby is a preexisting Star Wars character, it's equally possible that this is not someone we've ever met before.

In any case, the idea of Andor's child becoming a big deal in a future Star Wars story is very interesting. Right now, it seems very unlikely that Andor series creator Tony Gilroy will make a sequel show about Andor and Bix's baby. And yet, a lot of Star Wars has, traditionally, been about big family sagas. Why should the Andor family be any different?
