Thor now available from Netflix Streaming

Sure, you can be cynical and say I only posted this news because it would give me an excuse to post pictures of Chris Hemsworth, but I’m appalled that anybody could have such a lack of faith in me. Quite frankly, I’m ashamed of you peoples out there.

I have just discovered that Thor is now available from Netflix streaming. It’s great news I’ve been waiting for. Yes, Thor had it’s disappointing aspects, such as the most pathetic romance I’ve had the displeasure of watching in quite some while (and while I usually enjoy her work, Natalie Portman was horribly miscast in this movie.) But Thor also has Loki (Tom Hiddleston). And… Chris Hemsworth’s arms.

Anyway, if you just want to enjoy the beefcake but don’t want to sit through the dialogue again, may I suggest the Thor Rifftrax, a very funny commentary from some of the same people who brought you Mystery Science Theatre 3000. I highly recommend their stuff.

Amy Keeley It's been all this time and I didn't know this? O_O

I personally prefer Hiddleston over Hemsworth, but I liked them both in this film (and The Avengers). Though Thor has a good heart, Loki's intelligence/evil cunning does me in every time.

Have you seen the video where "Ulle" interviews Hiddleston and Hemsworth? It's on YouTube and I thought it was cute.

(And yes, most implausible case of Instaluv in a movie. Ever.)

Danielle Monsch I liked Loki's character arc in this movie over Thor's (boy becoming a man) - Loki was much more complex and fascinating.

However, following them both to the Avengers (available today on DVD!) Thor was certainly starting to come into his own while Loki was still overwhelmingly evil awesome. It makes me much more excited for Thor 2.

And I have yet to meet anyone who thought the romance aspect was well done in that movie. Such a shame, because who doesn't want to see Thor getting his groove on ;)

Amy Keeley Gah! Because of your post, I looked in my local store this morning, and yes! They have it!

Back to Loki v. Thor though, I think a big reason why Thor's arc fell flat in the movie was because his transformation didn't have a reason. Loki says it's the girl, but since that romance was DOA (I wonder if they break up in Thor 2?), and the scene where he makes friends with the other scientist got cut, we aren't sure what the heck happened. Not to mention it's hard to sympathize with the Jotuns. It's only because of Hemsworth's acting that Thor is as likable as he is.

Loki's arc though, is beautiful. In fact, when I saw him in The Avengers I felt so bad for him. He actually had my sympathy because I knew he could do better than what he was doing.

I'm sorry for going off on that. I just really love those two.

And yeah, I loved their interactions in The Avengers. Very nice.

Talking of which, tonight I confirm if that really is a tear on Loki's face after he stabs Thor (I think it is). Thank you for letting me know it's out. :D
