Hungry and Thirsty

“I am hungry for your Word [the Bible],” I prayed to God in the middle of the night. “I am thirsty for your Spirit,” I finished.

Then I added, “And, yes, I am hungry and thirsty for righteousness.” I was done.

I believe we typically think of hunger and thirst as relating to food and drink with which God blesses us to nourish and satiate us.
