Meghan Markle Accused of Causing Major Disruption at Charity Event
Meghan Markle reportedly caused a major "disruption during a charity event last year.
The wife of Prince Harry, known first for starring on "Suits" and "Deal or No Deal" before becoming a member of the Royal Family, reportedly helped play a role in a major charity event going poorly last year.
Dr. Sophie Chandauka, the chair of his Sentebale charity, recently spoke out about a charity event that took place in 2024. The charity event reportedly featured several "disruptions," thanks in part to Markle bringing a very famous friend to the event at the last second.
Dr. Chandauka, speaking with Sky News’ “Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips,” spoke out about what happened.

First off, the Zimbabwean corporate finance lawyer said that the charity had to switch venues, because Prince Harry wanted to bring his Netflix camera crew to film the polo event.
“We had a very generous family that was happy for us to use their polo grounds at a material discount,” she said.
“And then about a month before the event was about to take place, Prince Harry called the team and said, ‘I’m doing a Netflix show and I would love to bring a camera crew so that I can shoot some footage in this show.'”
When the host family found out about the camera crew, they increased their price. This led to the charity seeking another more affordable location.
Then, when the day of the event arrived, more "disruption" was caused, when Markle brought a very famous friend at the last second.
She ended up bringing Serena Williams.
“The duchess decided to attend, but she told us she wasn’t attending, and she brought a friend, a very famous friend,” she told Sky News.
“We would have been really excited had we known ahead of time, but we didn’t. And so, the choreography went badly on stage because we had too many people on stage."
There were a lot of headlines at the time and, according to Chandauka, Prince Harry asked her to issue a statement of support. But she refused.
“I said I wouldn’t. Not because I didn’t care about the duchess, but because I knew what would happen if I did so, number one,” she said.
“And number two, because we cannot be an extension of the Sussexes.”
Meanwhile, sources close to the charity suggest that Dr. Chandauka's accounts of the day aren't completely accurate. However, neither Prince Harry nor Meghan have spoken out in response.
