Taylor Swift Issues Strong Opinion of Selena Gomez's New Album
Selena Gomez officially released her fourth studio album, I Said I Love You First on Friday, March 21. The new release is a collaborative album with record producer and Gomez’s fiance, Benny Blanco.
The 14-song album marks Blanco’s second studio album. This was also his second time working in the studio with Gomez, as he received production credits for Kill Em with Kindness and Same Old Love on her second album, Revival.
Following the album's release, one of the most noteworthy reactions was from Gomez's longtime friend and fellow popstar, Taylor Swift, who posted an Instagram story about it.
"@selenagomez & @itsbennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD," Swift wrote on her story.

Swift gave it more than just a stamp of approval, and it's certainly noteworthy to see her praise of Gomez and Blanco's new album.
The album features guest appearances from Gracie Abrams, Tainy and J Balvin. The early reviews have featured a number of positive responses from critics. Clash's Robin Murray gave the album an 8/10 while stating that "each track lands."
Kept to a trim 35 minutes, there’s actually surfeit of highlights on display – each track lands, while owning an incredible sense of breadth. ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ is major league pop, but the introspection of ‘Don’t Take It Personally’ is in another universe.
The couple, who have been together since June 2023, announced their engagement in December 2024. But before any wedding planning intensified, Gomez and Blanco decided to put out an album that many are happy to label as a hit.
