I really like how in some mythologies the gods still have to walk.

Greek mythology? Can turn into a bird or a haze or something. Easy. Norse mythology? Thor can’t cross a river on his own.

Loki has to borrow Freya’s feather cloak in order to turn into a bird but can turn into a fish or a horse on his own power. Implying that he can do land and water creatures but birds are beyond him.
