When Marriage Feels Like Suicide - You Need to Hear from God
When marriage feels like suicide (which it sometimes does), you need to hear from God.
Some don't understand how marriage feels like suicide, but when you're in it, you get it! Emotional intelligence is rarely taught in school, universities, corporate America or churches.
A belittling, nagging, abusive (verbal or physical) spouse can quickly make you get to the point where marriage feels like suicide ...a daily dose of death.
As a relational author, life coach, survivor of adultery, and someone who has risen above the abuse I've endured from women (three generations of women), I have peculiar and strategic insight to help you survive and succeed when marriage feels like suicide.
If you're a woman reading this, rest assured I understand and witnessed the abuse men (my father and grandfather) could dish out as well during my childhood, so I also understand how women can come to a point when marriage feels like suicide and all they want to do is cry and run away.
I didn't ask for all of the heartache and pain I've endured, survived and overcome throughout my life; but somehow God has enabled me to lift my head up above it all (yes even when marriage feels like suicide) to remain hopeful and cultivate childlike faith.
Though human beings disappoint, God never does.
I keep a very busy schedule speaking worldwide, writing books, ministering in churches, counseling, life coaching and trying to take a few trips for myself annually; but if you have reached a breaking point where marriage feels like suicide email me and let me know.
Maybe my secretary can set up a intervention and series of coaching sessions.
By the way, when marriage feels like suicide, sometimes counseling and life coaching may be better for you individually before you rush to do this as a couple together.
When I went through my divorce, my ex-wife only attended 1 of 9 counseling sessions to heal our marriage. Nevertheless God had a plan for me, despite the emotional lows during times when marriage feels like suicide (or was feeling like suicide).
As I went through that personal ground zero and emotional cave, I wrote my book 'Breakthrough For a Broken Heart' to heal my heart and the many other broken hearts throughout the world.
Unfortunately, few Pastors I encountered along my season of adversity were able to hear from God for me (perhaps they were unwilling and/or unable). To hear from God, sometimes you must do so alone as you listen to circumstances.
Nevertheless God did use one minister (who I listened to his many audio messages) to hear from God inadvertently (even though it wasn't directly). So keep your eyes and ears open when you need to hear from God and let the Holy Spirit lead you.
