Seeing how broken everyone feels after this election has made me appreciate how deeply empathetic people can be. How hopeful they are. I was talking to my mom earlier, and she sounded so defeated. She doesn’t believe in the power people really hold, and it makes me sad that she’s given up on our country. America is screwed up, but that doesn’t mean all the people are, too.
