At the Atlacoluaya prison in Morelos, a confrontation took place between inmates and guards, and gun blasts reportedly alerted the prisoners’ families and emergency services.

According to the local authority, the confrontation led to the injury of three prisoners, while the prison leaders, who were subordinate to the former Morelos governor, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, were dismissed from their positions.

It is worth noting that the military leaders ruled out a rebellion in the prison, but soldiers, members of the National Guard, and members of the state mobilized to prevent this act.

For its part, the Morelos government reported that people deprived of their liberty, in dormitory B, confronted the guards, and for this reason the authority announced changes in the command structure, in order to comply with current regulations regarding prison inmates.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Jesús Francisco Flores, the prison director, was accused of demanding bribes amounting to 500,000 pesos from the families of people deprived of their liberty so that they would not be disturbed.
