As a struggling actor, Sylvester Stallone was so poor that he sold his bull mastiff dog, Butkus, for $40 to a stranger outside a 7-11 store. When Stallone became rich by selling the script for Rocky, he waited outside the same store for three days for Butkus’ new owner to show up again, and bought the dog back for $15,000.
