Do you hit your child to stop them from hitting?
Do you shout at your child to stop them from shouting?

Do you know what is happening here?

Your mirror neurons are making you do what your child is doing.

You are imitating your child – you are REACTING

What happens when you hit and shout?

Your child’s mirror neurons get activated

And they hit and shout more.

Is that what you wanted?
NO

Here is my 3D formula for DISCIPLINE – 

The 1st D is DESIRE – 
Always find out why your child had the DESIRE to do what they did.
Did they shout and hit because no one was listening to them?
Did they hit because they were scared?
As soon as you start THINKING your mirror neurons get deactivated
You don’t shout and your child does not learn to shout

The 2nd D is DECISION
Discipline is not punishment
Discipline is teaching your child how to make good DECISIONS
When you teach your child how to make good decisions they need to start THINKING
When your child starts thinking it deactivates their mirror neurons and helps them to RESPOND instead of REACTING

The 3rd D is DEMONSTRATE
Your child does not do what you tell them
They do what they see you doing
This is because of mirror neurons
In your life – when you get angry for some reason – don’t hit or shout.
This will program your child’s mirror neurons to do the right thing.
Your child’s THINKING BRAIN may not work all the time so they may to be able to RESPOND
But when the mirror neurons are trained they will REACT the way they have seen you react.
