How can you set up your child’s room to make them smarter?

There are 5 things you must keep in mind –

1. Pick a room with LARGE WINDOWS so that there is enough DAYLIGHT and FRESH AIR
The room should not need artificial lights during the day.
Try to ensure that there is a view of the sky and some trees (greenery) from the window
Allow fresh air to flow through the room
Have net at the windows to prevent mosquitoes getting in
This will reduce your child’s STRESS and keep them HEALTHY

2. Ensure SAFETY to build CONFIDENCE
The bed and other furniture should be low to prevent serious injuries in case of a fall
The bed should have railings to prevent falls
All heavy furniture must be fixed to the walls
Avoid rugs on which your child may slip while running
All plug points must have safety plugs
A safe environment will encourage your child to explore and increase LEARNING and INTELLIGENCE

3. Ensure ease of DUSTING to prevent ALLERGIES
Use simple furniture with clean lines and edges so that the room can be dusted thoroughly every day. This is crucial to prevent allergies
Your child must be HEALTHY to be SUCCESSFUL and preventing allergies to achieve that goal

4. Focus on supporting INDEPENDENCE to build SELF-ESTEEM
Get child sized furniture so that your child can move around without help
Place toys and books on low shelves so that your child can reach them without your help
When your child can do things, they will feel CAPABLE and try more difficult things

5. Avoid CLUTTER to promote CREATIVITY and FOCUS
Keep only a few toys available at a time
Use bins to store the toys so that clean-up is easy
Rotate the toys periodically
Your child will become INNOVATIVE and IMAGINATIVE when they have fewer things

Did you design your child’s room with these things in mind?
