“turn a blind eye” “fell on deaf ears” “were blind to the suffering” “were deaf to their cries”

positivelyqueer:

“turn a blind eye” “fell on deaf ears” “were blind to the suffering” “were deaf to their cries”

The words you’re looking for, in most cases, are uncaring and ignorant.

This isn’t a call out, but same as we were saying in the mid 2000s with the campaigns against gay as synonymous for bad, blind and deaf are not synonymous for uncaring.

forgive yourself for when you might have used these phrases in the past and do better moving forwards. Happy disability pride month.
