United Airlines Fraud and Customer Service Failures
In the good old days, AIRLINES actually cared about their CUSTOMERS and would speak to you face to face at the airport. Now they hide from their negligence and flight delays by giving you a cheap apology via text and all airline reps abandon their desks and tell you to reschedule via the app or phone (if you can endure being on eternal hold until someone answers it). UNITED AIRLINES informed all their employees about the flight delay because none were at the departure gate at 5pm. UNITED however did not inform passengers about the flight delay until 4:10pm. The alleged excuse for the delay, inclement weather in Houston, was not verified in the weather report, but works nicely for UNITED to enable them to avoid paying for passengers' hotels due to their negligence causing flight delays and cancellations. Avoid UNITED AIRLINES whenever possible if alternative options exist.
Upon calling United Airlines at 4:30pm about an earlier flight to Denver (beyond my 5pm flight pushed back to 8pm), the rep in the Philippines asked me if I could catch the 3:45pm flight. Clearly, she was unaware of the time in Florida. Next she asked me if I could fly from Tampa (as if Orlando and Tampa were right next door).
To further complicate matters, United Airlines cancelled my 5pm flight twice, pushing it back to 8pm and then later to 10pm. Although there was another flight at 8:40pm no airline reps offered to put me on it without me taking the initiative to request they do so.
I eventually called United on the phone bought a first class ticket for $539 to get on the 8:40pm flight on United Airlines after they cancelled my 5pm and 8pm flights and three agents mercilessly never put me on standby for the 8:40pm flight (only a 4th agent at the airport put me on standby for the 10pm flight, after two cancellations already, when I persevered, but said I was 6th in line and there are only 4 open seats). Now that I have paid AGAIN to play by calling United (to fly first class and am $peaking United's language) suddenly I am on the 8:40pm flight flying FIRST CLASS.
I am contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a formal complaint regarding the matter and seek a full refund from United Airlines in the amount of 738.48 for the nonsense and many hours of my life lost due to United Airlines' lies, negligence and fraud.
Dishonorable mention to the following United agents at the Orlando airport who did nothing to help me fly to see my daughter: Gabriel, Brendon, and Kimberly.😡 Thanks to Boris for putting me on standby (although 6th in line for only 4 empty available seats). A million thanks to the airline rep on the phone who helped me buy a FIRST CLASS ticket and bypass the nonsense to go see my daughter.🙌
