Something About Me
‘...the ingenious man is often remarkably incapable of analysis.’ --Edgar Allen Poe, MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE and Other Tales
It was so sweet of Cousin Marie-Antoinette to keep me in the loop. She sent me a graduation announcement about her daughter, Bernadette Villalobos, graduating this coming May 2, 1998, from the University of Southern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in CRIMINOLOGY. Now, that’s impressive! She also included a photo of Bernadette’s daughter, Destyne Patricia Villalobos (born Sept. 2, 1996). She is pictured at the innocent age of 1 year and 7 months. What a cutie pie! I like the fact that she keeps me informed.
In addition, my 12-year-old niece, Lauren M Armijo, sent a cute note: Dear Uncle Mike,
How are you doing?
Thank you for my birthday presents. I haven’t read the book yet, but I know I’m going to love it.
I tried on the head band. I love it. It looks great on me.
See you when you come up. I love you so much and I miss you.
Love,
Lauren
PS – Here are school pictures of Leigh and me.
Lately, I’m obsessed with a song by a group called SAVAGE GARDEN called TRULY MADLY DEEPLY. Coincidentally, there’s a 1990 film that I loved called TRULY MADLY DEEPLY, starring Juliet Stevenson and Alan Rickman. I wonder if the group SAVAGE GARDEN was also influenced by the film. The movie is about a woman dealing with inconsolable grief over the death of her partner and gets another chance when he returns to earth as a ghost. I believe the lyrics disclose something about me because I really adore this tune so very much:
I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need
I love you more with every breath truly, madly, deeply do
I will be strong, I will be faithful 'cause I'm counting on
A new beginnin'
A reason for livin'
A deeper meaning, yeah
I wanna stand with you on a mountain
I wanna bathe with you in the sea
I wanna lay like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me
And when the stars are shining brightly in the velvet sky
I'll make a wish, send it to heaven and make you want to cry
The tears of joy for all the pleasure and the certainty
That we're surrounded by the comfort and protection
Of the highest powers
In lonely hours
The tears devour you
An' I wanna stand with you on a mountain
I wanna bathe with you in the sea
I wanna lay like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me
Oh, can you see it, baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
It's standin' right before you
All that you need will surely come
Ooh, yeah
I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy
I'll be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need
I'll love you more with every breath truly, madly, deeply do
I wanna stand with you on a mountain
I wanna bathe with you in the sea
I wanna lay like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me
I wanna stand with you on a mountain
I wanna bathe with you in the sea
I want to live like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me
‘...she wept because she thought of the man...and suddenly she wasn’t sure she hadn’t loved him with a love she hadn’t seen because it had lost itself in the affair like water in sand and she rediscovered it only now, through this moment of CHOPIN Waltz music flung across the sea...he came to Paris.’ --Marguerite Duras, THE LOVER
