Life Tools: Making Life Cozy, Part 1 By Susan Hanniford Crowley

Lately in a lot of the United States of America, life has gotten a lot harder because of weather: tornadoes, torrential rains that break dams and wash away roads, blizzards, ice storms, and winds that take down lines. I’m sure I’m missing something. If you can think of it please mention it in the comment box.

The important thing to do after all the emergency tasks are done is to make your sanctuary cozy. You’re going to be there for a while. Worrying makes things worse. Consider staying in your safe place and resting. Here are a few ideas.

Things to do if you like (some you can do without having power)
1. Writing either on a computer or in a journal. I usually write my books in a journal first and then type it into the computer.
2. Knitting
3. Crocheting
4. Baking cookies, breads, pies, cakes
5. Quilting
6. Sewing
7. Make a fireplace stew or soup if you have a fireplace cooking crane
8. Make S’mores
9. Tell stories as you sit by the fire
10. Read books by ebook reader or booklights on paperback books
11. Sketching and drawing
12. Napping or just sleep
13. Play with pets
14. Play cards or board games

Remember, please, don’t go out during the worst weather unless you have no choice. Stay home, be safe, and cozy.
