Photos of some of the entries to the International Rizal Monument Competition (1905-1907) from the album of Alfonso T. Ongpin. First Prize went to the entry (Top Right) "To the Martyr of Bagumbayan" by Italian Carlo Nicoli, but for some reason the commission eventually went to the SECOND Prize winner (Top Left) "Motto Stella" or "Guiding Star" by Swiss Richard Kissling.
Would you prefer any of the other entries that, in my opinion, work more for wedding cakes tha...
