State of the TAM - 29 Nov

December is almost upon us. The gritters are on the roads. The freezers in the supermarkets are LOUSY with turkey. I’m INSUFFERABLE with seasonal spirit. Like, small children have - more than once - gotten excited when they mistook me for Mrs Claus.
It’s the red boots and red coat.
……the santa hat.
Maybe the dogs in Christmas themed hoodies!
Anyhow, this year I ALSO have a Christmas book out. So…. Don’t expect me to be less weird!
Oh and this is my previous Christmas book.

Very different books though!
In less festive news Izzy had to go to the vet today. She has an anal gland infection, so that was all cleaned out and now she’s got a fibre supplement, painkillers, and antibiotics. Poor wee mite. She’s very clingy tonight, but seems to be feeling better!
Pupdate of the WeekOut!

Home!

Jack Forrest agrees to accompany some friends on a Caribbean cruise just before Christmas. But he’s sharing a cabin with a friend of his friends so he won’t meet his roommate until he boards the ship.
Bart Chadwick is interested in Jack as soon as he sets eyes on him, but it doesn’t seem like the feeling is mutual. They’re rooming together, so maybe things will change.
Friendly bar waiter Gabriel fancies himself a matchmaker and sees a spark between Jack and Bart at the LGBTQ meet-up. Can he help them find love at first—or second—sight?
OK, this is kinda weird (me, not the book :D) but while I think R.J is awesome… Mostly I saw these and thought my friend Jenn would have LOVED them. So here you go, Jenn would have loved them books!
This is relevant to True North - but you’ll have to read it to find out how!

Everything is cooler in space! Including the ways that the human body breaks down in new and mortifying ways. I read this old SF series…sourced from library books and haunting the local used book store in the hopes that whoever had brought in the rest of the series would drop the rest off…about a space hospital.
It was AWESOME. (Had a quick google. Sector General! It was really cool!)
The Bodily Indignities of the Space Life
As an incubator of life, Earth has a lot going for it, something we often fail to appreciate fully from within its nurturing bounds. Merely sending probes and rovers to the moon and Mars won’t do. For various reasons — adventure! apocalypse! commerce! — we insist upon taking our corporeal selves off-world too. Multiple private companies have announced plans to put hotels in space soon. NASA is aiming to 3-D-print lunar neighborhoods within a couple of decades. And while it will probably take longer than that to build and populate an outpost on Mars, preparations are being made: This summer, four NASA crew members began a 378-day stay in simulated Martian housing at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
This is me! Well, similiar hair and anxieties! She’s obviously cooler :D
I always worry I’m not reading Jax’s boundaries right, but he does - on the rare occasions he doesn’t want to inhabit my sinuses - get up and walk away if he wants to. Izzy is not as boisterous in her affection usually…but she’ll sometimes charge up and slap you on the bum to come down and let her love her.
No really. She runs up behind you, jumps up, and thumps her paws on your bum. Cute, but occasionally surprising!
