Learning to do sprayed edges!

Check it out! I'm learning to do sprayed edges for my book Malfus! What do you think of the colors? I'm going to try black and red next. Once I can come up with something consistent I might find a way to make them available.

I am curious ... did you have to clamp them together? I was always curious as to how they sprayed the edges like that. I have made my own book with a kit to make my own paper and then did the binding myself, but never sprayed the edges. I guess I was always afraid that the paint would go all over lol

Yeah, I have two small planks of wood and then four clamps that I have on each corner to hold it down real tight. So far, I haven't really gotten any paint inside the book or between the pages, but I think I'm spraying a bit too heavy, because separating all the pages is a pain. Doable, just tedious.

That makes a lot of sense. I thought they would have to be clamped together somehow. I'm sorry it was such tedious work to separate the pages. Maybe it is the amount of paint. Then again, it could be the kind of paint too. I've never done it, but it gives me pause to try it until I find someone who did it without the tedium. I love arts and crafts and if it was a book for myself I might just do it because I would have time to do it, but what you're doing with multiple books might be more than I could manage. I wish you all the luck in the world. It does look great so it's well worth it. Very creative! ;-)

Casey Sutton Thank you so much!! I'm definitely going to keep at it! I'll let you know if I find an easier method. :)
