I’ve seen a lot of Tiktoks and Instagram posts about authors who are struggling to process some harsh reviews. *Maybe it’s the algorithm messing with my head. *

Of course, negative reviews sting, I’ve been there, but it doesn’t mean you are a rubbish author. Guess what? Harry Potter even gets rubbish reviews! Come on, who doesn’t like HP?

What does it mean?
1. You’re writing style or genre may not be to that readers taste.
2. You may use or not use certain tropes that a reader likes/ dislikes.
3. You may write in a POV and tense the reader isn’t comfortable with.
The reasons are endless, but it doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself or beat yourself up. It’s okay to not be everyone’s cup of tea. That’s life, but it doesn’t mean your cup of tea is any less tasty to the right person!
Do you, write what you want to read, and there will be an audience out there for you!
