If snow

We had a brief flurry of snow here. Neither of the dogs wanted anything to do with it.

If snow falls
flakes flying
white against a bleak sky

if we watch their
streaming not unlike
silver streaks of rain

if flakes melt
at the touch of grass or mud
did it really snow?
