Giving Thanks

This has been a trying year to say the least, kind of like the last two years of dealing with Covid have been difficult years. Still, it is during these times that I believe it is important for us to be more cognizant and thankful of what it is that we have, and for me personally, I truly feel like both myself and my family have been very blessed. I’m not going to pretend as if everything is a walk in the park each day because it’s not. But overall, we have more to be thankful for than not.

My kids are always asking me the worst and best of everything. What is the worst memory I’ve ever had? What is the worst dream or the best dream or the best vacation or the best food… You get the point. Perhaps this is a copout, but I always remind them that there is always something better or something worse. The last two years have been a reminder of this.

So be thankful, not because you have to but because you want to. Forcing ourselves to think about our blessings is a helpful exercise and goes a ways to lightening one’s mood.

Happy writing this week and Happy Thanksgiving!
