Edition 2015 vs. 2021

We need to talk about the reviews for my book, The Son of Light Book 1 (2015 Edition) ...yeah.

One word, CHEAP. And I'm not insulting the people who worked on my book. However, the reviews speak for themselves and that my responsibility. I got what I paid for in terms of the editing.

The first few chapters of Book 1 reflected my inexperience as a writer. I thought I had to write everything in detail, including the sex and gory scenes. That turned a lot of people off. Also, I had POV characters all over the place. The story wasn't as focused as I thought.

The Son of Light Book 1 (2021 Edition) was expensive to re-edited, but worth it. In my mind, it's the best version. That's not to say that it's perfect, but I worked my butt off revising everything.

The sexual things in the book have been toned down to a degree but are still present because they're important part of character development. But as a result of the new edition, the book is almost 500 pages on Amazon! Sometimes, I wish it was shorter, but it is what is.

Ultimately, I'm a better writer now. 2015 was frustrating but fun. The important thing is that I learned a lot since then and I will continue to learn.
