Two Sides...

"I don't think I will ever be the sort of person who just goes through life being silent, reserved, and safe, people-pleasing and yes-manning my way through the years, always careful not to make so much as a ripple in the water. I splash through it, because that's who I am."

"All that splashing is bound to attract predators and nasties who will just take advantage of you, or worse throw insults and hurts that will all but destroy you."

"See, that's the thing. If my splashing draws out the rot, and alerts others to the fact that danger is here, then isn't that worth splashing for?"

"You will die, how about that."

*Sigh* "You may be happy to save yourself while another dies through your silence and negligence. But me, I'm willing to die if it means another can live. In this short lifetime, wouldn't it be better to make the right noises instead of simply sitting silent? And if that noise wakes someone up and saves them from a life of silence, wouldn't that be worth dying for?"
