Book Review: Black Ice by Brad Thor

Published in 2021. Thriller. Scot Harvath has had the best summer of his life with his Norwegian girlfriend, Solvi. That is, until he sees a ghost. Not a real ghost, but a man he had killed several years ago. He sends the information in to his company back in Washington, D.C. and alarms are raised even though the man is identified as the ghost’s cousin.

Harvath follows him to a construction site, but loses him inside. Instead, Harvath is confronted by four Russian goons who are intent on taking his life. What none of them know is Solvi has tracked them down and saves Harvath’s life in the nick of time. From here, Harvath is now on the trail of a secret Russian-Chinese collaboration to hide the movement of their vessels through the Greenland-Iceland-UK gap in the Atlantic Ocean, using a new device called Black Ice. Harvath has to stop them.

Plenty of action in this book with a lot of familiar characters. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to the next installment of Harvath’s life. Will he retire from the field?
