Stop Caring what Others Think
Today, I'm focusing on one thing that has been a great struggle for me over the years...caring about what others think.
I’ve learned that focusing on what other people think about you is bad for your mental health. I’m telling you this stuff is really, really not good for you. If you notice, happier people don’t even think about others. They focus on themselves and being better than they previously were.
If you find yourself spending mental energy on what other people are thinking, make a plan to distract yourself, like watching a funny video or snapping a rubber band on your wrist. Do what you gotta do, but please break the habit of overly caring about people‘s opinions about you.
This is not good on your journey to living life effectively.
YOU automatically place yourself in imaginary shackles when you worry too much about what others think of you. Start FOCUSING on what you WANT, LOVE and THINK, then follow that like nobody's watching!
Focus on yourself, your life, your career, your family, your real friends and most importantly your HAPPINESS.
It's fine to care about your reputation. The key is not letting that concern overwhelm you.
YOU CAN NEVER FULLY STOP CARING HOW OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF YOU. I challenge you to hold on to these 6 principles as you move forward.
1. Remember: people really aren't that interested in you.
2. Tell yourself a different story.
3. Meet more people.
4. Focus on controlling your thoughts, not theirs.
5. Don't try to please everyone.
6. Know it's okay to care what others think.
The key is to not allow it to overwhelm you and paralyze you from maximizing your potential. Years ago a mentor of mine told me, “A person who is okay with being alone is a powerful person.” What this person is skilled in, is how to not worry about the people around them.
Disconnecting from people has the power to also help you learn how to not overly care about people‘s opinion of you as well. A few years ago, I discovered that I didn't need people around me. I was trying to learn how to be with me. Now I am okay being alone and I am okay being with people. There's a healthy balance.
BEING ALONE IS POWERFUL WHEN YOU DISCOVER HOW TO EMBRACE THESE 6 POINTS.
1. Being alone is better than being unhappy with someone.
2. Enjoy your free time being yourself.
3. You can figure everything out.
4. Being alone forces you to to learn about yourself.
5. You build focus when you learn to be alone.
6. You can go deeper in your meditation.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is pull back from the world and work on yourself in solitude. Please remember, being alone for a purpose isn't loneliness. The key to inner freedom is to care more about what you think of you than what outsiders think of you.
WORK ON BEING THE BEST VERION OF YOURSELF. Be the person you look up to.
Self-confidence is the most attractive quality a person can have.
