if you have a holiday, enjoy it

For me it’s hard to get in the 4th of July spirit and be rah-rah America right now, because I see it as a country that is so full of division and painful conflict.

Different belief systems.

Conversations that quickly become attacks.

Not even a shared understanding of basic facts.

How are we going to come to a common ground?

Will there ever be a way to find peace and compromise?

How are people going to feel taken care of?
